Karnataka Governor conducts Janata Darshan

Bangalore, Oct 17 (UNI) Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur today heard public grievances at Janata Darshan in Vidhana Soudha, the State Secretariat.

Mr Thakur, who is overseeing the state administration following imposition of President rule after BJP withdrew support to Janata Dal (Secular) coalition government recently, received more than 500 applications during a two-hour Janata Darshan and assured the applicants for all help from the Government.

BJP legislator M P Kumarswamy urged Mr Thakur to take up road works in his constituency-Mudigere.

''No works were taken up during JD(S)-BJP coalition Government, he said adding that he hoped atleast now, under President rule, the development work would be taken up in the constituency.

Besides individuals, Government workers from across the State, representing many unions and associations met the Governor to press for their demands in pay hikes and renewal of contracts.
