JPMCC to launch agitation demanding 2nd language status to Bangla

Ranchi, Oct 17 (UNI) The Jharkhand Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee (JPMCC) will launch statewide agitation demanding second language status to Bangla language in state.

JPMCC state president Pratibha Pandey today said that party workers would stage demonstrations before the state Assembly on October 24 in support of their demand.

Ms Pandey further said that on November 5, a similar agitation had been planned at every district headquarters, where a memorandum would be submitted to the concerned deputy commissioner addressing Chief Minister Madhu Koda in this regard.

''We will ensure that our demands are fulfilled by November 15, the eighth foundation day of the state,'' Ms Pandey said.

''I will sit on a fast-unto-death from November 20, if the government fails to fulfill our demand, '' the Congress leader said.
