Jaya demands judicial probe into violence at Presidency college

Chennai, Oct 17 (UNI) AIADMK Supremo J Jayalalithaa today demanded a judicial inquiry into the violence incident at the Presidency College on Monday.

Talking to newspersons here at the party office, she condemned police action on the students at the Presidency College.

''Apart from conducting judicial enquiry, all the police personnel involved in the incident should be suspended,'' she said.

She asked the DMK Government to come forward and pay suitable compensation to the students, who were injured in the incident.

''I was also distressed to learn that a student committed suicide fearing that police would register false case against him,'' she said, adding that the State Government should ensure that proper justice be done to the students.
