Chennai, Oct 17 (UNI) World Champion Viswanathan Anand today said he was overwhelmed by the splendid welcome accorded to him at the airport here on his return home afterwinning the world titile for the second time.
In a brief chat with newspersons at the airport, soon after he arrived from Delhi, Anand, speaking in Tamil said, ''I never expected that so many people will turn up to receive me, especially children.'' He said he would take rest at his home for a week and relax with his friends.
''I will think of my next season after this,'' he said.
Placards hailing Anand as the King of the world greeted him at the airport, amidst the sound of drums and traditional Nadaswaram.
He was received with a 'poornakumbam' by priests brought for the occasion.
