Chelsea admit FA charge of failing to control players

By Staff

LONDON, Oct 17 (Reuters) Chelsea have admitted a charge of failing to control their players during the 2-0 Premier League defeat to Manchester United on September 23, the FA said today.

The charge related to the conduct of Chelsea players towards referee Mike Dean following the red card shown to John Obi Mikel after 32 minutes for his foul on United defender Patrice Evra.

Assistant first team coach Steve Clarke has also admitted a charge of using abusive and/or insulting words towards the match officials at the end of the same match.

The club and Clarke have requested personal hearings which have yet to be scheduled, the FA said on its Web site (www.thefa.com).
