Chandigarh, Oct 17 (UNI) Airtel, India's leading mobile services provider, today announced a bonanza for its prepaid customers in Punjab by reducing the rates of all local calls to Re 1 per minute.
According to Airtel Punjab Circle CEO (Mobile Services) Rajiv Jaitly, with the reduction in the local call rates, Airtel customers making local calls to other Airtel mobiles will save 33 per cent as they will now pay Re 1 per minute instead of Rs 1.50 per minute charged earlier. There will be a saving of 50 per cent on calls made to other mobiles and landlines with the rate per minute dropping to Re 1 from Rs 2.
The lower call rates have come into effect from October 16.
Customers who are using special tariff coupons will continue to get tariffs as per the existing rates applicable on those recharges. The default tariff will not be applicable for Handset Bundle offers and Easy Lifetime/ Lifetime Recharges.
"Airtel has always been proactive to the needs of its customers and hence brought in simple tariff of all local prepaid calls @ Re 1," Mr Jaitly said.
