Visit Hooghly bridge & Akshardham in Ranchi during this Puja

Ranchi, Oct 16 (UNI) With more than a hundred tech savvy puja committees working overnight to give final touches to the pandals, people here await with enthusiasm the coming of Goddess Durga.

Replicas of the Cartoon Palace of London, Hooghly Bridge of Kolkata, Aksahrdham temple of Delhi and an ancient Shiv Mandir of Nepal are among the few instances of crowd-pulling pandals in this year's Durga Puja collection in Ranchi.

One of the oldest puja committees Bhartiya Yuvak Sangh of Bakri Bazar area has hired artists from West Bengal's Midnapore district for its pandal and is recreating it in the mirror image of Swami Narayan Akshardham temple of Delhi.

The committee, which is also celebrating its golden jubilee, in its last year had adorned real people with 'pratima's' attire instead of idols to make the scene look more alive.

The Kokar Durga puja committee in the industrial area of the city is presenting a replica of Kolkata's Hooghly bridge.

More than 10 huge gates is being erected with electric lights from Lalpur chowk to Kokar.

One of them will display Mahendra Singh Dhoni fondly called 'Mahi' playing lofty shots.

Besides, cartoons of Spiderman and Tarzan would be displayed with flashy lights for children's entertainment.

The Kokar committee is expected to spend about Rs 11 lakh. Last year, tsunami was the point of attraction here.

Another puja committee, Satya Amar Lok, known for its austerity will decorate its pandal with mattresses. The puja committee comprising mostly business class people have been celebrating for past 26 years at the Harmu Road bypass.

The president of Satya Amar Lok Hemendra Singh told UNI that this time they would offer to the public a replica of Nepal Kali Mandir at an estimated cost of Rs seven lakh.

Shakti Srot Sangh of Garikhana has been built in the image of Kolkata's Dakshineshwar Kali temple.

Chandrashekhar Azad Durga Puja Samittee at the main road has constructed a replica of Cartoon palace, London.

Another committee Trikon Hawan Kund offering special prayers during the Navratra would display an image of heaven in front of the Ranchi University gates this time.

Similarly, Natraj Yuvak Sangh at Lowadih chowk in the state capital would make Belur Math of Kolkata.

Meanwhile, in order to avoid any untoward incident, the Ranchi Mahanagr Durga Puja Samittee has decided to install close circuit televisions inside the crowded pandals all over the city.

The Samittee has also instructed all organisers to play only religious songs and ensure deployment of women cadres for the convenience of women and childern.

The Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi Avinash Kumar is meeting with the administrative officials and puja committees to ensure peaceful celebrations.
