Sonia constitutes Coordination Committee for UP

New Delhi, Oct 16 (UNI) Congress President Sonia Gandhi today constituted a high level Coordination Committee for Uttar Pradesh with UPCC President Rita Bahuguna Joshi as Chairperson, Mr Rahul Gandhi and 18 others as members and with two special invitees.

The committee has as many as four AICC General Secretaries -- Mohsina Kidwai, Janardan Dwivedi and Digvijay Singh, besides Rahul Gandhi -- and six AICC Secretaries -- Rajiv Shukla, Nirmal Khatri, Bhola Pandey, Jitin Prasad, Abdul Mannan and Vivek Bansal.

The committee has six former UPCC Presidents. They are Mohsina Kidwai, Mahabir Prasad, who is now SSI Minister at the Centre, Salman Khurshid, Sriprakash Jaiswal, who is Minister of State for Home at the Centre, Arun Kumar Singh Munna and Jagdambika Pal.

Former Chief Minister Ram Naresh Yadav has also been made a member of the committee, Mr Janardan Dwivedi said in a statement.

The Leader of the Congress Legislature Party in the UP Legislative Council is also a member.

Mr Digvijay Singh, AICC General Secretary in charge of UP affairs, and the AICC Secretary in charge of UP are special invitees.
