'Ore Kodal' to open Indian Panorama at Goa Film Festival

New Delhi, Oct 16 (UNI) Malyalam film 'Ore Kadal' directed by Shyamaprasad will open the Indian Panorama in the prestigious 38th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), 2007, beginning in Goa next month.

The highest number of four entries each are from Marathi and Malyalam cinema, followed by three from Bengali, two from Tamil and one each from Assamese and Manipuri cinema.

The Bollywood would be represented by 'Dharm' directed by Bhavna Talwar and 'Gafla' directed by Sameer Hanchate.

Lenin Rajendran's Ratri Mazha (Night Rain- Malayalam) and Samir Chanda's Ek Nadir Galpo (Bengali) will represent the country at the Asian African and Latin American Competition of the festival.

Bagher Bacha (Bengali) directed by Bishnu Dev Halder will be the opening film of the non-feature section of the festival.

The Juries for the Indian Panorama Section of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) have recommended a total of 21 feature and 15 non-feature films for screening at IFFI.

The two juries for feature and non-feature films, headed by renowned film makers K S Sethumadhavan and Arun Khopkar respectively, submitted their reports to Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Asha Swarup here today.

The selections were made out of 119 feature and 149 non-feature films.
