Puducherry, Oct 16 (UNI) Members of the Territorial Assembly, irrespective of their party affiliation, today strongly condemned the assault on DMK member R Rajaraman by two youths at Abishegampakkam, near here, on Sunday last.
The Legislators led by, leader of the Opposition A M H Nazeem, called on Chief Minister N Rangasamy at his office and demanded stern action against the culprits. They said attack on Legislators had become common here and recently Villianur Legislator J Narayansami was assaulted. This could not be tolerated and an attempt to murder case should be booked against the culprits.
They also pointed out that rowdy menace had became uncontrollable and urged Mr Rangasamy to convene a meeting of senior police officials and get a report on the action taken by the Puducherry police to control rowdy menace in the Union Territory.
