Kerala doctor pays musical tribute to Sachin

By Staff

Kochi, Oct 16 (UNI) Inspired by the batting artistry and charisma of Sachin Tendulkar, a dental surgeon from Kerala has composed songs about the living legend in 20 languages, which would be a record for a musician.

'' I am crazy about Sachin Tedulkar and that forced me to do this musical album, which chronicles the admiration and adulation the master batsman had received from Indians in his 17-year career, '' said C V Renjith, who is a practising dental doctor in Kannur.

The album, Shan-e-Hindustani, which was released in the State today, has songs in Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Urdu, English, Arabic, Sanskrit, Marathi, Bengali, Gujrathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Assamese, Bihari, Kashmiri, Tulu, Konkini and Jodhpuri.

''The song directed and sung by me is a tribute to Tendulkar and Mother India,'' he said.

Dr Renjith (34) gave a copy of the Urdu song to Sachin, when he came here for the second one-day International between India and Australia. After receiving the album, the master-blaster wished all the best to Renjith for the venture.

'' I will talk to Tendulkar's managers about marketing the album and chalk out the future porgramme,'' he said.

Dr Renjith took six months to finish the album and the songs were shot in Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Kannur.

The audio version would be launched in November and the video album in December across the country.
