Bangalore, Oct 16 (UNI) The Janata Dal(S) legislators who held a two-day 'brain storming' session in a resort today unanimously authorised former party leaders H D Kumaraswamy, M P Prakash and state unit President Merajuddin Patel to decide the future course of action.
Speaking to UNI here Mr Prakash said that the JDLP meeting which concluded this afternoon discussed at length about the political situation arising out of imposition of President's rule and keeping the Assembly under suspended animation by the Center.
"The legislators expressed their opinion freely and authorised us to take the final decision, whether to go for mid-term polls or to find avenues to form next alternate government," he said.
The summary of the views expressed by the JD(S) legislators would be communicated to party supremo H D Deve Gowda and his guidance before finalising the party's stand.
Terming the reports of rebellion among the legislators who were 'dead against' going to polls as rumours, Mr Prakash asserted that all the party legislators rallied behind former Mr Kumaraswamy and pledged to abide by the party's decision.
He also sctoched rumours that he had convened a meeting of disgruntled legislators, who were in favour of forming government by joining hands with either Congress or BJP.
Mr Kumaraswamy had convened a two-day meeting in the resort on the outskirts of the city to 'chalk out' the future course of actions.
The former Chief Minister had been under severe pressure was reportedly confronted by the legislators who were against the party going for mid-term polls. However Mr Gowda was against the party having a tie up again with either Congress or the BJP and had said that he preferred to face fresh polls.
