Puducherry, Oct 16 (UNI) PMK parliamentary party leader Prof M Ramadass today urged the administration to erect a statue of "Sindanai Sirppi Singaravelar" in Karaikal region of the Union Territory.
In a letter to Chief Minister N Rangasamy, he said true to his title conferred by Anna, late Singaravelar was a good thinker.
Describing him as a good educationalist, friend of the working class, a profilic writer and an efficent leader, Prof Ramadass recalled the postal stamp released in his memory and the Puducherry administration erecting his statue here to honour him.
The PMK leader said he had urged the Centre to instal his statue inside the Parliament complex. Similarly, the Puducherry administration should take steps to erect the statue of Singaravelar in Karaikal region before his next birth anniversary.
