Heavy rains likely in Northeast

Pune, Oct 16 (UNI) The Southwest Monsoon has been vigorous in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and active in Assam and Meghalaya.

It has been subdued in Orissa, Konkan, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and at many places in Arunachal Pradesh and Gangetic West Bengal.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, and at isolated places in Orissa, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jaammu and Kashmir, east Madhya Pradesh, north Chattisgarh, Konkan, Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema, and coastal and south interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana and north interior Karnataka.

Heavy rains have occurred at isolated places in Orissa. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and at many places in Assam, Meghalaya, east Uttar Pradesh, and Uttaranchal.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of Punjab, Madhya Maharashtra, and were above normal in Madhya Pradesh and in some parts of Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, and in remaining parts of Madhya Maharashtra. They were below normal in some parts of east Uttar Pradesh.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in some parts of east Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Marathwada, and were below normal in Himachal Pradesh and remaining parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. They were above normal in remaining parts of east Uttar Pradesh.
