Girl student killed another serious after train hits bike

Fatehgarh Sahib, Oct 16 (UNI) A girl student was killed while her male companion was seriously injured when their motorcycle was hit by a train here today.

According to reports, Sonia, a BCA first year student of RIMT-IMCT, Mandi Gobindgarh, was riding pillion on the motorcycle of another college student Rahul when while passing by the railway track near their college, they were hit by the speeding train.

Both were seriously injured in mishap.

While 19-year-old Sonia was rushed to Civil Hospital, Mandi Gobindgarh where she succumbed to her injuries, the boy Rahul, who was driving the motorcycle was referred to DMCH, Ludhiana in a critical condition.

Sources said that the boy's leg was crushed in the accident.

The Sirhind GRP police has registered a case under section 174 of CrPC.
