Chennai, Oct 16 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M Karunanidhi today claimed even Former Indian Governor General C Rajagopalachari (Rajaji) who authored a book on Lord Ram described him as ''a human prince'' and said he (Rajaji) did not attach any divinity to him.
Speaking during the distribution of State Film Awards for 2005 and 2006 here this evening, Mr Karunanidhi, referring to Rajaji's book ''Chakravathy Thirumagan,'' said in the foreword it was mentioned the Ramayana was an epic and not history.
Rajaji described Lord Ram as a human prince who did good work for society, Mr Karunanidhi said even as he exhorted people to distinguish between an epic and history.
The DMK patriarch said he had nothing against Lord Ram and he would welcome the good work done by him.
The Chief Minister was referring to Tamil Film Actor Rajanikanth's suggestion that he should intiate steps for a dialogue with politicians from North India to find an amicable solution to the Sethusamudram Shipping Channel Project (SSCP).
Mr Karunanidhi had found himself in the eye of a storm for his controversial remarks on Lord Ram in the context of SSCP, which caused a furore among the Hindu community.
