AI Express inducts 10th owned 737-800 plane into fleet
New Delhi, Oct 16 (UNI) Air India (AI) Express has inducted tenth owned aircraft into its fleet.
The plane has tail designs on either side depicting different facets of traditional and contemporary India which represent heritage values and ethos of the country.
Various themes have been used on the nine aircraft inducted so far and the tenth aircraft carries design of two dance forms -- Garba, the graceful dance form of Gujarat associated with Navratri, and Bihu, the folk dance related to national festival of Assam.
AI Express was formed primarily to cater to the price sensitive market which requires point to point service at lower fares. Ticket prices are about 25 per cent lower than legacy airlines.
The airline operations cover the Indian cities of Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mangalore, Chennai, Trichy, Amritsar, Nagpur, Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi and offer international flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, Muscat, Salalah, Oman, Bahrain, Doha, Singapore and Colombo.
