6000 provided employment in new industries

Bhopal, Oct 16 (UNI) As many as 6,017 people were provided employment in 279 industrial units set up with a capital investment of Rs 1,862.37 crore in 19 industrial growth centres in Madhya Pradesh during the BJP rule as compared to providing employment to 12,055 people in 399 units involving an investment of Rs 1,789.10 crore during the previous ten year congress regime.

Between December 2003 and July 2007, 23 large and medium units were established with an investment of Rs 1,752.52 crore and 256 small scale units with an investment of Rs 109.70 crore, official sources said today.

Land measuring about 759 hectare had been acquired for the greenfield special economic zone near Indore and five units had already gone into production providing employment to 1,200 people, while 12 units were under construction.
