New Delhi, Oct 15 (UNI) Hitting out at the BJP for claiming that the UPA Government was going ''soft'' on terror, the Congress today said the BJP should stop playing politics on national security.
''There should not be any politics (on national security)...,'' Congress spokesman Shakeel Ahmed told reporters here.
Earlier in the day, BJP President Rajnath Singh had said terrorists were having a free run because of the Government's ''soft'' approach towards the terrorists, which was reflected in the terror attacks on Samjhauta Express, then Mecca Masjid and now Ajmer Sharief and last night in a Ludhiana cinema hall.
Condemning the Ludhiana blasts, the spokesman, however, said law and order was a State subject, and the Home Minister was in touch with the security agencies in the State.
''Only after investigations are complete, the blame on a terrorist organisation would be fixed,'' he added.
The Congress also expressed grief over the deaths of at least 11 devotees in a stampede at the famous Maha Kali temple in Panchmahal district of Gujarat yesterday.
