Madrid, Oct 15 (UNI) Indian golfer Shiv Kapur survived some anxious moments and hiccups before carding one under 71 last round to end at joint 18th place in the Open de Madrid Valle Romano here.
Kapur, winner of 1998 Busan Asiad Gold, totalled six under 282 (72,70,69,71), to be at the 18th slot along with Denmark's Ryder Cup star Thomas Bjorn.
The Delhi based Golfer for his effort received Euro 10,836.
Overnight joint 20th, Kapur played steady golf and fired two birdies on the 4th and 5th, he however dropped a shot on the 7th to end the outgoing nine at one under.
On the back nine, he had a birdie on the 14th, but bogyed the next hole to end at 36.
Denmark's Mads Vibe-Hastrup (67) won the title with a four-day total of 16-under 272, followed by favourite Alejandro Caizares (275).
