Meghalaya govt asks BSF to request BDR on boulders

Shillong, Oct 15 (UNI) The Meghalaya government has decided to ask the Border Security Force personnel to request the Bangladesh Rifles to prevent Bangladeshi nationals from collecting boulders from Dawki bordering the Indo-Bangla border under Jaintia Hills District.

Informing this in the Assembly today, Chief Minister D D Lapang said the state would instruct the district administration to take up the alleged collection of boulders by Bangladeshi nationals with the Border Security Force.

The district administration along with BSF officials held meeting with its BDR counterparts on the alleged collection of boulders.

However, BDR officials had denied the allegations.
