IBM leads external storage system in India

Mumbai, Oct 15 (UNI) IBM India continues to lead the external storage market in India as per the IDC Asia-Pacific Quarterly Storage Tracker survey, which was released today.

In terms of factory revenue, IBM India recorded a market share of 23.7 per cent in the external storage segment with a revenue growth of 20.8 per cent YOY and maintained the number one position on a rolling four quarters (RFQ, 3Q 2006 to 2Q 2007) basis with 22.2 per cent market share as per the aforementioned IDC tracker.

Sanjit Sinha, Research Lead - Hardware Research, IDC (India) Ltd said, ''IBM continues to reach new heights in India and dominance in the external storage space is just the beginning.'' IBM's comprehensive product portfolio for companies of all sizes, continued development of Express Advantage storage offerings for medium businesses, and a concentrated focus on expanding SMB operations have all been significant contributors to IBM's success in this market.''
