Housewife drugs husband, in-laws, decamps with cash, valuables
Phagwara, Oct 15 (UNI) In a shocking incident, a young pregnant housewife decamped with cash and valuables after allegedly drugging her husband and in-laws at their residence in Mohalla Aulsar last night.
Police today said Sukhwant Kaur left the house after serving food laced with sedatives and is yet to be arrested.
Her husband, Sukhwinder Singh, father-in-law Satnam Singh and mother-in-law Surjit Kaur regained consciousness today after a neighbour rushed them to the civil hospital last night.
According to a statement given to the police by Sukhwinder Singh, his wife had illicit relations with a youth of her native village, Kalanaur, in Gurdaspur district prior to their marriage in June this year. Sukhwant continued the relationship even after marriage, he said.
Investigations by the police revealed that the young housewife did not take her meals last night. Before leaving the house, she took Rs 25,000 in cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 40,000.
A case has been registered against the housewife and her alleged lover.
