Chennai, Oct 15 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government today selected 22 bidders for supplying colour television sets for the third phase of free colour TV distribution scheme.
On the last date for opening of the bids today, a committee headed by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, opened the bids in the presence of committee members and the bidders and accepted all the 22 bids, an official release here said.
In the third phase, the government proposed to supply 30 lakh colour TV sets to the card holders in the state.
The committee, again in the presence of its members and bidders would open the price bid at 1700 hrs on October 18.
The committee members, who were present when the bids were opened, were Local Administration Minister M K Stalin, Congress Legislature Party leader D Sudarasanam, PMK leader G K Mani, CPI leader Y Sivapunniam, CPI(M) leader C Govindasamy and DPI leader K Selvaperundagai, the release added.
