Shimla, Oct 15 (UNI) Acting on the BJP's complaint on removal of hoardings listing government's achievements, the Election Commission has directed the state government to remove all such hoardings in the state.

''Besides removing all hoardings in the town here, all deputy commissioners have also been directed to remove all such hoardings at the earliest,'' state's Chief Electoral Officer Manisha Nanda told reporters here.

She said the hoardings were being removed following the implementation of the model code of conduct in the state after the announcement of two-phase elections in the state on October 10.

On Friday, state BJP secretary H N Kashyap had lodged a complaint with the Chief Election Commissioner, saying that the hoardings, highlighting achievements of the Virbharda Singh Government had not been taken down and were a direct violation of model code of conduct.
