Bombardier Transportation bags $ 43 mln order from DMRC
New Delhi, Oct 15 (UNI) Global corporation Bombardier Transportation today received a contract for rail signalling equipment worth 43 million dollars from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (DMRC).
The contract involves the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of train control and signalling systems for two new sections of lines, a total of 37 kilometres which represents more than half of the Delhi Metro phase II expansion.
''We are poised to support local Transit Authorities in the task of placing rail transportation in India amongst the world's greatest. Bombardier is focusing on the Indian market,'' Bombardier Transportation Rail Control Solutions President Anders Lindberg said.
The new system will enable an operation and cost-effective operation due to reduced wear and tear on the vehicles. Passengers will benefit from superior safety, short and constant headways and smooth rides.
