BJP substitute Satarkar's papers rejected, four intact

Panaji, Oct 15 (UNI) The election authorities had today rejected the nomination papers of BJP's dummy candidate Vishwas Satrakar for the October 31 byelection to Mormugao parliamentary constituency, in South Goa.

They, however, found the documents of four others intact. The last date for withdrawal of the nomination papers is October 17 while the votes would be counted on November three.

With the BJP's main candidate Dr Wilfred Mesquita's papers found in order, the authorities rejected the documents of the substitute, according to the returning officer and south Goa district collector Mr R Mihir Vardhan.

Dr Mesquita thus, fights Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Francisco Sardinha besides two independents - Hamza Khan and Jawahar Dias.
