Shimoga, Karnataka, Oct 14 (UNI) Asserting that a 'remarriage' with its erstwhile ally JD(S) was not possible, senior BJP leader and former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today demanded dissolution of the Assembly and early polls along with Gujarat.
Talking to newspersons at his native Shikaripur, about 50 km from here, he said the BJP would prefer a fresh mandate from the people as the time for a 'remarriage' with the JD(S) was over.
''There is no question of a re-alliance with the JD(S) and our demand is that elections be held along with Gujarat,'' he said.
Denying reports about the BJP having 'secret' talks with former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy last night, Mr Yediyurappa said ''I want to clarify that the BJP has parted ways with the JD(S) and there will not be any re-alliance.'' He said the second phase of campaign against the JD(S)' ''betrayal'' would be launched from Haveri tomorrow.
