Indian grapplers beat Pak 3-1 under 'Mission Dosti'

Jammu, Oct 14 (UNI) The Indian grapplers defeated their Pakistani counterparts in a one-sided affair 3-1 and won the Indo-Pak Wrestling Competition under 'Mission Dosti' organized as a part of Navratra festival at holy town of Katra in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Five grapplers from Pakistan participated in a day-long competition wherein Indian men grabbed the show and won three bouts in the best of five.

India's Rajeev Tomar won the final bout beating Pakistan's Hamid Khan and was awarded a cash prize of Rs 31,000 and a silver 'gurj' besides an Indo-Pak 'Dosti Mission' patta by Union Labour Minister Oscar Fernandes, who was the chief guest on the occasion.

However, in other bouts, Pappu of Pakistan held Jaqir Hussain of India to a draw. Shahid of Pakistan outplayed Rakesh of India. The fourth bout was won by India's Rehmat Ali who beat Rehman of Pakistan.

The international event was organized under the banner of Indian Style Wrestling Association of India by the J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
