Chandigarh, Oct 14 (UNI) Haryana farmers have been advised to sow their wheat crop for the ensuing Rabi season by November 15 as the right time for sowing the crop begins from October 25 and lasts November 15.
According to a spokesman of Haryana Agriculture Department, the timely sowing of crop results in ensuring a bumper crop. The use of zero-tilage machine in the area of wheat-paddy rotation would further improve the prospects of higher yield.
The sowing of wheat should not be carried out by sprayer or spray technique, he added. He suggested that the farmers of northern region should prefer sowing their crop with seed variety of PBW 502, PBW 343, WH 542, WH 711 and the farmers of southern western areas of the state for the seed variety WH 147, PBW 343 and WH 283.
