Gangtok to host the 18th Rotract District Conference
Gangtok, Oct 14 (UNI) The 18th Rotract District Conference will be hosted by Sikkim here on the first week of January next, where all the 24 Rotract clubs in Northeast will be participating.
The Rotract club of Gangtok, who is organising the event, has begun its preparations and has expected that more than 300 delegates from Northeast would participate.
The three-day event would begin from January four and the participants will be interacting on social issues confronting the region.
Senior IPS officer Kiran Bedi will be the chief resource person, said Tarun Sarda, an executive member of Rotract.
District Rotract representative Temusenla Jamir from Nagaland is currently on a visit to Gangtok to inspect the preparations.
''I believe the Gangtok conference will have a huge turnout. We are also expecting delegates from parts of West Bengal and Nepal,'' she said.
The theme for the event is 'Sankalp-Keep the promise'.
