Chennai, Oct 14 (UNI) Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Haruhiko Kuroda today expressed satisfaction over the tsunami rehabilitation work in Tamil Nadu.
Talking to newspersons at the Secretariat here, he said the State Government had done a good job in rehabilitation and building infrastructure in the tsunami-affected areas at Nagapattinam and Cuddalore districts in the state.
''ADB will extend full co-operation to all the developmental activities of the Tamil Nadu Government,'' he said.
Mr Kuroda said he was happy that physically challenged persons, who received financial assistance from the ADB, were also doing well.
According to the statistics given by the officials, ADB had provided 143.75 million dollars under the Tsunami Emergency Assistance Programme (TEAP) to carry out the various rehabilitation and reconstruction activities.
The Government had so far spent 83.26 million dollars and the remaining amount would be spent early. Under the livelihood component alone, 47.78 million dollars out of 49.99 million dollars had been spent.
