Shekhawat's return to active politics to benefit BJP: Raman

Raipur, Oct 13 (UNI) The BJP would be further strengthened if former Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat returned to active politics, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh said.

He was replying to a question whether the BJP felt that Mr Shekhwat, a senior BJP leader with strong secular credentials, should return to active politics.

''Mr Shekhwat is one of the most experienced leaders in the country. He is in parliamentary politics since 1956,'' Dr Singh told UNI here.

''If the former Vice-President returns to active politics, it will definitely help strengthen the party,'' he added.
