While responding to a question regarding politicians' homecoming in an interview, Gen Musharraf said he wants an amicable environment in the country so they should not return home with an attitude of confrontation.
He however said National Reconciliation Ordinance is not a party-specific law, but has been enacted to create positive political environment and end the politics of victimization, Geo TV reported Gen Musharraf as saying.
''There was an era of political victimization and confrontation from Year 1988 to 1999 in which cases were registered against political opponents but this government wants to get rid of this culture,'' he added.
He also stated the government has decided to withdraw all pending cases for last 15 years, due to which the government has offered the amnesty.
A committee has been constituted to decide the merit of these cases and will withdraw all baseless cases, he added.
