Kolkata, Oct 13 (UNI) For the first time, Eastern Railway (ER) today launched a special Howrah-Delhi train, branded as ''Dollar Express''.
Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM) Jayanta Kumar Saha flagged off the train from Howrah station at 1315 hours.
''For the first time, ER has executed a contract with Bhawani Textiles Ltd, which manufactures the Dollar undergarments, to advertise their products on this special train,'' the ADRM said.
The entire train had the Dollar undergarments advertisement hoardings painted on it.
''By approving this contract, the Railways can earn from various private companies. We will be finalising several more deals with other private companies for endorsing their products in a similar way,'' Mr Saha added.
0231 up Howrah-Delhi Dollar Express would be running twice a week.
''ER is operating 108 puja-special trains, including 22 in the Howrah-Delhi sector, this year,'' he said.
