Ajmer, Oct 13 (UNI) Additional Director General of Police(Crime) A K Jain has ruled out any evidence with the police to prove the involvement of the victim Sayid Salim in the Ajmer shrine blast.

He said, ''There is no evidence till now to substantiate the role of slained Salim in the blast and all the reports to the contrary arefalse.'' He also categorically denied the report of a wire similar to the one used in the bomb having been discovered from the body of Salim.

He added that the withholding of compensation to the family of Salim was not due to any suspicion over his involvement in the blast but due to administrative reasons. He said the government wanted to ensure the authenticity of the relatives who come forward for claiming compensation.

He said a special investigation team was constituted to inquire into the bomb blast and a police team had been sent to different places.

He added that state police was being supported by Special Operations Group, CBI and the Delhi and Gujarat police in the investigation.

Mr Jain said as per initial investigation, the blast seemed to be the handiwork of a terrorist organisation with international links and ruled out the role of any local groups in the dastardly act.
