Double for Ratnika Batra, Prateek Bhambri win boy's title

New Delhi, Oct 13 (UNI) Unfancied Ratnika Batra crowned herself in glory, winning the under-14 and under-16 titles in the DSCL National junior tennis championship here today.

In the under-16 boys' final, Prateek Bhambri was in great form as he crushed Shiva Sangwan 6-2, 6-0, while Mohit Mayur beat Rohit Bisht 7-6 (9/7), 6-4 to win the under-14 title.

Ratnika, a class 9 student hogged the limelight on the last day of the fortnight long tournament as she won the under-14 title beating beat Natasha Palha 6-4, 6-4. And then captured the U-16 crown overwhelming Ankita Raina 6-4, 6-3.

In all, she played 39 games today and still looked fresh.

''I am happy to be winning a double crown and I wish to thank my family and coaches for all the help. I am sure I can look forward to the next season on a high note,'' said Ratnika.
