Dacoits murder woman, rob gold in TN

Madurai, Oct 13 (UNI) A 20-year-old woman was found murdered in her house and golden ornaments including 12 sovereigns were robbed by unidentified dacoits at Mayil Nagar, on the outskirts of the city last night.

Police said the husband of the deceased woman S Sasikala, who returned to the house last night, found the gate was locked outside.

However, he opened the gates with an alternative key and found his wife was brutally murdered.

She was strangulated to death with her legs tied with ropes.

Bleeding injuries were also found in her forehead and other parts of the body.

Senior police officials and finger-print expert rushed to the spot and held inquiries. A special police team was formed to nab the culprits.

A case had been registered and investigation was underway, police added.
