Tiruchirapalli, Oct 13 (UNI) The Singapore-based Confederation of Logistics and Supply Chain Managers of Asia (CLASCMA) has opened a Chapter here with an aim to promote industrial activities.
Informing this to newspersons here today, CLASCMA Secretary-General Dr Prumal Magayson said the Chapter, apart from addressing IT industry, manufacturing units and logistics industry service organisations, envisaged professional training to entrepreneurs and others on topics of supply chain management market strategy in global environment.
Prof Magayson who is also the Dean of World Trade Centre University, Washington in United States, said the launching of the chapter was intended to spread their activities across the country.
The company was planning to launch a chapter in every state of India, he said, adding similar chapters would be opened in 5-6 locations in China soon.
Stating that talks were on with various bodies like small and medium-scale industries and educational institutions for collaborative activities, he said the company would sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharathidasan University here to organise training programme by utilising their faculty facilities. The one-day seminar-cum-workshop on international trends in logistics and supply chain mnagement, organised by CLASCMA would begin tomorrow, he said.
