Ranchi, Oct 13 (UNI) Criticising the UPA-backed Madhu Koda government for making Urdu the second language of the state, the Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) today said the government move would be opposed.

In a release here, BJYM state president Anant Ojha said they would burn the effigy of Chief Minister Madhu Koda and register their protest against the move.

Mr Ojha alleged that the announcement was made as per direction of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and it would enhance minoritism in the state.

Mr Ojha said the erstwhile NDA government had recommended Santhali and Bengali and the move was welcomed by all sections, but the recent announcement was just an appeasement policy.

Mr Koda had announced to make Urdu as second language of the state as a gift for Eid and any offical notification in this regard is likely to be issued in a week.
