Lucknow, Oct 13 (UNI) The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police in a joint operation with Unnao district police today arrested nine wanted members of a crime syndicate in the state capital.
The gang is allegedly involved in several cases of murder and dacoity in UP.
Addressing a news meet here, STF SSP Amitabh Yash said at least four persons were murdered and two brutally wounded by masked assailants at village Satni Khera in Bara Sagwar area of Unnao.
Three hundred sheep were taken away by the gang.
An FIR was lodged at Bara Sarawar police station and a team was constituted under STF SP Manoj Kumar Jha to solve the case.
Acting on a tip-off about the criminals proceeding towards Kheri on Kanpur-Lucknow route to execute another crime, cops cordoned off the Sarojni Nagar area and swooped upon them.
The accused were identified as Feroz Khan, Iqbal, Yusuf Khan, Veeru, Ram Babu, Kalua, Ramesh Yadav, Umesh Yadav and Suresh.
On interrogation, the arrested confessed that they used to kill people and rob sheep which they sold at Paharganj area in Delhi.
They disclosed committing several heinous crimes in Allahabad, Kaushambi, Banda, Kanpur, Mainpuri, Jhansi and Farrukhabad districts.
Four 12 bore pistols, two 12 bore rifles, 10 cartridges, four cell phones, two SUVs and a motorcycle were recovered from them.
