8-day Rajasthan Craft Fair inaugurated

Chennai, Oct 13 (UNI) An eight-day-long Rajasthan Craft Fair, aimed at promoting crafts from Rajasthan and other parts of the country, was inaugurated here today.

More than one lakh visitors were expected to visit the fair organised by the Rajasthan Hasta Kala Samithi, an NGOs, at the C P Arts Centre here.

Wooden panels depicting dancing figures, huge elephant dolls stuffed with hay and stitched with colourful cotton, birds, jewels, trinkets and bangles from Rajasthan, idols made of bell and white metals, carved wooden panels, room partitions, walnut wood furnitures, hand woven textiles, stone paintings, radium, marble and stone statues, rose wood carvings, glass work cholis and sarees, silk paintings, Hyderabad pearls, churidhars from Rajasthan and Gujarat, and leather items are on display in about 50 stalls at the fair.
