US engineers to guide BMC engineers on SWM
Mumbai, Oct 12 (UNI) To guide Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation engineers on disposal of solid waste management (SWM), three engineers from the Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI), America will visit Mumbai from October 22 to 26.
Speaking at a press conference today, Additional Municipal Commissioner R A Rajiv said, ''The visiting engineers are on a week-long visit to Mumbai and will provide guidance to BMC engineers on solid waste treatment and disposal technology.'' Mr Rajiv added, ''The engineers from US will provide information to BMC engineers about various methods used all over the world to tackle the problem of SWM and how it can be implemented in Mumbai.'' Mr Rajiv pointed out that the visit by the members of CCI will bring down the cost for BMC and will introduce various methods used for SWM all over the world to our engineers.
The three members include CCI Senior Project Development Manager James D Bier, owner of Lewis Engineering Sangeeta Prasad Lewis and Environmental Engineer Nuggehalli Chokkanna Vasuki.
All the visiting members of CCI are experienced in pollution control and the various methods used for disposing SWM in America.
UNI
