Mumbai, Oct 12 (UNI) P D Hinduja Hospital Dean Dr G Davar, while deposing before the court today, said that two surgeries were performed on Pramod Mahajan and thereafter he was on ventilator till his death.
Standing as witness in the Pramod Mahajan murder case, Dr Davar told the court of Additional Sessions Judge S P Davare that Pramod Mahajan was brought to the hospital in a semi-conscious condition on April 22, last year and he was bleeding severely.
Replying to a query raised by Special Public Prosecutor Ujwal Nikam during his examiantion, Dr Davar said two operations were conducted on Pramod Mahajan -- on April 22 and April 23 last year. Thereafter, he was kept in the Intensive Care Unit(ICU) on life supporting systems till his death on May 3, last year.
Another witness and a member of the investigating team, A S Katkar, said 28 live cartridges were recovered from the house of accused Pravin Mahajan, who is the younger brother of the deceased.
He said the ''panchanama'' of the accused's vehicle and driving licences were done in his presence.
The cross examination of these witnesses would be done on Tuesday as Defence Lawyer Harshad Ponda was not present.
