Tata launches new Sumo Victa turbo DI

New Delhi, Oct 12 (UNI) Tata Motors today launched the new Sumo Victa Turbo DI, with the BS II variant priced between Rs 4.84 lakhs and Rs 5.89 lakhs (ex-showroom, Karnal) and the BS III range is priced between Rs 4.95 lakhs and Rs six lakhs (ex showroom, Delhi).

The upgraded range of the entry-level utility vehicle is fitted with a new three-litre Turbocharged DI engine, delivers improved fuel economy, higher power and torque, said a statement.

The new engine churns out power and torque of 70 PS (at 3,000 rpm) and 223 Nm (at 2,200 rpm) respectively.

Fuel efficiency has significantly improved at 15 kmpl (under test conditions).

The range comprises four trim levels - Cx, Lx, Ex and Gx in both BSII and BSIII emission compliance levels.

It offers a wide range of seating configuration -7, 8, 9, and 10 seats The top end variant, Gx, is also equipped with power steering, power windows, central locking, keyless entry, CD/MP3 music system and internally adjustable side view mirrors.

Tata Motors sold nearly 48,000 utility vehicles in the domestic market last fiscal, including 32,000 of the Sumo range.

Since the launch of the Sumo in 1994, over 356,000 units have been produced.
