SAIL's management training institute inks MoU with IIM

New Delhi, Oct 12 (UNI) An arm of Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), Management Training Institute (MTI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore to conduct joint programmes for various organisations in areas of common interest, particularly in steel and allied sector.

As per the agreement, both the institutes will exchange faculty for their programmes based on need. MTI and IIM will develop case studies and joint consultancy for organisations related to steel and allied sectors.

Under the MoU, MTI programmes will get certification and faculty input from IIM, Indore. Both institutes will also be able to access each other's databanks and publications, a SAIL release said here today.

''The MoU will enhance the capabilities of both the organisations in a multi pronged way,'' the release added.

The MoU was signed by Sushim Banerjee, Executive Director (HRD), MTI, and Prof S P Parashar, Director, IIM, Indore, in the presence of SAIL's Director (Personnel) G Ojha.

MTI, the Ranchi-based ISO 9001:2000 institute since 1994, caters to the managerial training needs of corporate cadre executives of SAIL.

The institute has been awarded the Golden Peacock National Quality Award twice and has been a winner in the National Competition for Innovative Training Practices.

The MoU with IIM, Indore, one of the premier management institutes of the country, is in line with MTI's sustained endeavour to excel in and contribute more significantly towards management education, training, consultancy and research.
