Prepartions on for Navratrotsav in Nashik

Nashik, Oct 11 (UNI) Preparations are on in every household and at Sarvajanik Navratrotasav Mandals to welcome 'Maa Shkati' for its 10-day abode.

After the end of 'Shraddh' period yesterday, markets are overflowing with people to buy puja materials, idols and decoration materials among other things.

The buzz of the festivities can be witnessed not only in the city but also in other parts of the district. At Saptashring Garh at Vani in Dindori taluka, prepartions are on in full swing for the festival. The Garh, abode of Mata Saptashringi, is one of the 35 'shakti peethas' of the Adi Shakti. The district also has renowned Renuka Mata temple at Chandwad, where preparations are also on.

The administration has also made enough prepartions for the 10-day 'Navratrotsav' at Saptashring Garh, as it is believed that the number of devotees visiting the temple this year will outnumber the previous records.

Nearly 8-10 lakh deotees are expected to visit the Sapatashringi temple to seek the blessings of Mata.

The district administration has made adequate security arrangement considering the possible threat to religious places. The MSRTC will run more buses for the visiting devotees. Similarly, medical and food facilities have been arranged for the 10-day festival at the Garh.

Besides policemen, home guards, NCC cadets, a Bomb Detection and Disposal squad will also be deployed at the temple. Metal detectors and CCTV cameras have been installed to monitor the crowd.

Apart from the religious places, Sarvajanik Dandia Garba Mandals have also made their preparations. One of the oldest such mandal is Ram Leela Mandal in the city, which is a symbol of national integration as people of different religions come together and take part in 'garba'.
