Bangalore, Oct 12 (UNI) Over 30 Musicians, legends in their own field, will perform for a human cause in the city on October 27.
The renowned artists of Carnatic and Hindustani music would perform 'Vision of India - A Tribute to the Nation', with the concept of 'Safe India: Progressive India' organised by Comprehensive Trauma Consortium (CTC) to carry the message that people do not become victims of trauma.
Talking to newsmen here today, renowned Neurosurgeon Dr N K Venkataramana of CTC said that the event was conceived, written and composed by violin mastreo Dr L Subramaniam. It would feature renowned artists like Gangubai Hangal, Balamurali Krishna, Purna Das Baul, Pankaj Udhas, Kavita Krishnamurti Subramaniam, Suresh Wadkar, Wadali Brothers, Sikander Langa and Bindu Seetaa Subramaniam.
"This is a concept incorporating different styles of music from different parts of the country. This was for the first time that different traditional styles, including the very colourful folk traditions, were being brought together on the same platform along with Classical music, Bollywood Music and Fusion. It is arranged with modern and traditional instruments and also includes traditional percussion", he added.
Replying to a question, Dr Venkataramana said that though the event was aimed at fund raising, it was held to create awareness about the importance of pre-hospital care, to create effective reall about the emergency helpline 1062 besides to raise funds to sustain the life saving service of the CTC.
He said that since initiation of services in March 2000, CTC Sanjeevini has rescued over 45,000 lives absolutely free-of-charge and reduced the pre-hospital death rate to less than three from 32 per cent in march 2000 in the city.
Dr Venkataramana said that CTC at present possessed 45 ambulances stationed at various points on national and state highways. CTC had signed MoU with more than 45 hospitals to rush the accident victims.
