Islamabad, Oct 12 (UNI) Reaffirming his commitment to maintain congenial political atmosphere in Pakistan, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz today said the National Reconciliation Ordinance and the dialogue process with the political parties were extensions of the same intent.

The economic turn-around had been recognised within the country and abroad, he said, adding that the government's economic policies and development strategies had helped in increasing the middle class in the society that reflects progress and prosperity.

The Prime Minister said the government's development strategy was to bring the under developed areas at par with other areas of the country which included building infrastructure and ensuring basic facilities to common man.

While appreciating the role of local government he said electrification of villages, improvement of irrigation system and extension of incentives to the rural population has brought about a change for the better.

He, however, pointed out that there was still a lot to do and added that the government would ensure that the problems of the common man are resolved.

The parliamentarians updated the Prime Minster about the development projects in their respective constituencies and said the reform agenda initiated by the government had resulted in a sea change in the standard of living of the people.
