Nashik, Oct 12 (UNI) State Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader R R Patil today said the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is prepared for the mid-term polls.
''NCP is a small party. We have to remain alert. We wish that the government should complete its full term but if elections become inevitable then we are prepared for it and we will contest them with all our might,'' Mr Patil said, while talking to reporters here today. He was here to commence the 31st sugarcane crushing season of the Nashik Co-operative Sugar Factory here.
Meanwhile, Mr Patil urged the need to make efforts to rejuvenate the cooperative movement. Referring to the financial problems faced by the cooperative institutes, he said action will be taken against those responsible for causing the problems.
He added that the government will extend all support to sick cooperative units, and all drawbacks, impeding the growth of the cooperative sector, will be removed.
Meanwhile, Mr Patil also condemned yesterday's Ajmer blast. He said, the Ajmer ''dargah'' is a pious place for Muslims as well as for people of other religions, adding, ''It is not an attack on Ajmer Sharif only, but an attack on the unity of the nation.'' UNI
